Campus for Research Excellence and Technological Enterprise (CREATE)

The laboratory was designed via a collaborative effort involving NRF,  SembCorp Architects & Engineers (SCAE) as the design consultants.

The facility was designed prior to any Green Mark for Laboratories guidelines, but the team recognised early in the project that the facility should be practical and aesthetically pleasing and should deliver in the areas of workflow alignment, safety and energy efficiency. Furthermore, with the involvement of CARES senior researchers early in the project, the design process took into consideration the facility operational plan that CARES is planning to put in place for the facility afterward.

The team was proud to have delivered a state-of-the-art lab facility for NRF and CARES. The streamlined lab layout has also enabled CARES to utilise its assigned space optimally. The sophistication of the gas delivery and detection system to ensure gas safety is currently unparalleled in the local R&D lab scene. We have successfully translated engineering risk control measures common in the petrochemical industry to a lab environment.

This project won BCA GREEN MARK PLATINUM AWARD.
