Aircraft Hangar 6

SCAE designed this air-craft hanger with 4-storey office within the existing facilities at Paya Lebar Airbase. This hanger was on a tight schedule of 6 months, therefore the design took into consideration buildability, and modular system.

This building has a large 81m column free span. Special care was taken to optimize the building efficiency by maintaining the service core for every floor as compact and strategically grouped as possible. Defined circulation, i.e. pedestrian, vehicular and aircraft routes are planned in detail, and reflects the existing overall site planning which was based on the projected traffic flow for the whole development.
